Language Learning Strategy Use across Gender

چکیده

This study examines the effects of gender on Indonesian EFL tertiary students’ use learning strategies for speaking skills. It addresses what students use, strategy and group they favour, whether significantly affects use. paper reports quantitative part a larger mixed method which draws questionnaire (N= 65) obtained at Gajayana University Malang. The demonstrates that used wide range spread over six groups. Male favoured ‘finding out about language learning’ ‘compensation’. Female ‘paying attention’ ‘metacognitive’. also shows affected ‘affective’ only. concludes by discussing implications theory practice.
